Monitor Your Child's Online Activities

District Web Filtering
As part of the Colorado Internet Safety & Digital Responsibility initiative, Jeffco is required to provide a safe and secure internet environment for students to work in and learn. To maintain that type of environment, Jeffco selected the Palo Alto firewall to monitor, filter, and block restricted websites on all district computers, while connected to the district network and on devices that go home with students.

We also use Securly, which provides web filtering support at home (or on other public Wifi networks) for district Chromebook and iPad devices. Securly is activated once a student logs into their device using their district Google logins. In March 2020, we rolled out the SecurlyHome app where families can monitor activity on these devices. The SecurlyHome app offers parents the ability to both monitor and control students’ internet activity outside of the Jeffco Public Schools network.

Once you create a parent account, you will have a real-time view of your child's activity on their school device. You will also get a weekly email from Securly with a snapshot report of that activity and will be able to check your student’s internet activity anytime during the day. Click here to learn more.
