Instructional Coach

Wilmot's Instructional Coach works alongside teachers to continually refine the school's practice in the classroom that ultimately has a positive impact on student learning and growth. Structures for this learning include PLCs (Professional Learning Communities), Learning Labs, Coaching Cycles, and Classroom Observations and Feedback through Coaching Notes. The instructional coach supports the school's goal of each child achieving one year's growth in one year's time.

Bio: Empowering children to solve problems, respect different perspectives, and instill the notion that learning is never “done” is why Sarah became an Instructional Coach. Although she started teaching as a reading interventionist in Iowa, Sarah feels she has found her niche at Wilmot Elementary. She loves collaborating with the staff and creating new and innovative education solutions that impacts the entire student body. It’s that hard work and drive which has led her to receive the Wilmot Valuing People award in 2018. Sarah earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Regis University, but it's her first hand experience working with the Wilmot staff for the betterment of all students where her education really kicks in. Together with her husband, son, who attends Wilmot, and their dogs, Sarah is also part of the Evergreen community that makes up Wilmot Elementary.
