Jeffco Gifted and Talented logoParents of gifted children need access to a variety of resources, networking and support to help guid them through their child's academic journey.
The Gifted and Talented Department will be offering Parent Seminars in conjunction with JACG (Jefferson County Association for Gifted Children).  The presentations are prepared by various professionals on issues related to gifted children.
The Parent Seminars focus on supporting the children, parents and educators while offering the resources and networking that are needed.

This seminar will offer four different focus sessions to differentiiate for the parent audience.

Select one to attend:
*Understanding ALP's (room 2A): This session will outline the Advanced Learning Plan lifecycle for elementary and secondary students.  We will discuss the goal setting and progress monitoring process for both strength area goals and affective goals for the 2017-2018 school year. 

*Gifted and Talented 101 (room 3A and 3B): Learn about the programs, policies, and practices for gifted and talented students in the Jeffco School District.  Parent will gain an understanding of the program and a basic foundation for who the gifted are.  Participants will have a chance to ask questions and will leave with resources for communication and support. 

*Social Emotional (5th floor Board Room): Join us as we discover the inner world of giftedness.  Topics will include: over excitabilities, anxiety, and perfectionism.  We will discuss how it feels to be gifted and how you can support the gifted learner.

*Twice Exceptional, 2e (room 4E): Learn how to help your child at home and support their specific needs.  How best to share information with school personnel and open the lines of communication.  We will walk through the Jeffco GT parent website so you will have the resources needed for supporting your child's learning needs.
